Keeping your Baby Brezza Formula Pro clean and running smoothly is essential for ensuring your baby gets fresh, properly prepared formula every time. Over time, minerals in water can build up inside the machine, impacting its performance. Descaling your Baby Brezza regularly removes this buildup and keeps the machine in top shape. Here’s a step-by-step guide to descaling your Baby Brezza Formula Pro at home!

Why Descaling is Important

Descaling your Baby Brezza is especially necessary if you live in an area with hard water, which contains more minerals that tend to build up in appliances. A quick descaling every month can prevent clogs, ensure consistent formula mixing, and keep the machine hygienic.

How Often Should You Descale?

Baby Brezza recommends descaling the machine every month to prevent mineral buildup. However, if you notice reduced water flow, inconsistent formula mixing, or if you use hard water, you may want to descale more frequently. To help reduce buildup, try using filtered or distilled water in the water tank instead of tap water.

What You’ll Need:

Step-by-Step Descaling Instructions:

1. Empty the Water Tank

Make sure the tank is empty before you start. If there is any remaining water, pour it out.

2. Mix a Vinegar Solution

Create a descaling solution by mixing equal parts white vinegar and water. For most descaling jobs, you’ll need about 10 oz of each, but you can adjust this based on the size of your machine’s water tank.

3. Fill the Water Tank

Pour the vinegar solution into the water tank of the Baby Brezza.

4. Run the Machine

Place a cup under the formula dispenser and run a few cycles (about 2-3 oz per cycle) until half of the solution has gone through the machine. This will help remove any mineral deposits inside.

5. Let the Solution Sit

After dispensing half of the solution, turn off the machine and let the remaining vinegar mixture sit in the tank for about 30 minutes. This allows the vinegar to break down any stubborn buildup inside the machine.

6. Rinse the Water Tank

Pour out any remaining solution in the tank and rinse it thoroughly with fresh water to remove all traces of vinegar.

7. Run Fresh Water Cycles

Refill the tank with clean water and run several cycles (2-3 oz at a time) until you no longer smell any vinegar in the water. This step ensures that all vinegar residue is flushed out before you start using the machine for formula again. This took me about two full tanks.

Additional Tips for Keeping Your Baby Brezza in Top Shape

  • Regular Cleaning: Apart from descaling, clean the removable parts (like the powder container and water tank) regularly according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Use Filtered or Distilled Water: Using filtered or distilled water reduces mineral buildup, which can prolong the time between descale sessions.
  • Store in a Dry Place: Moisture can lead to faster mineral deposits, so keep the machine in a cool, dry area when not in use.

Descaling your Baby Brezza Formula Pro is a quick, simple process that can make a big difference in maintaining your machine and ensuring each bottle you prepare is fresh and healthy. Try to set a reminder each month, or make descaling a regular part of your monthly baby gear maintenance routine!

Happy feeding, and here’s to fresh bottles every time!
