easy tips that I’ve slowly integrated in our home 👇🏼

1. REDUCE DUST

Vacuuming with the windows/doors open has been HUGE. Think about all the dust that is coming up from the floor? Opening doors and windows helps circulate that air and DUST OUT. I’m obsessed with my new vacuum and mop combo – it’s 1/4 of the price of the viral bissell one and I like that you can use your own cleaning solution. I use distilled water + a little branch basics cleaning solution and a drop of rosemary essential oil!

No shoes in the house. So simple! I got a cute little shoe bench by the door to keep everything in.

Air purifiers have been a GAME changer. Especially if you’re someone with allergies and/or pets! I have one in the living room, our room, and our babies room. This one is the best and is more of a splurge, this one is also great and less expensive! If you have an air purifier already, make sure you are changing the filters OFTEN. The package on mine says 6-8 months, but after 3 months the filter is disgusting. You’re only as good as keeping up with the filter change or you’re not getting the cleanest air out of it!

2. FRESH AIR

Opening doors and windows for just 5 mins each day helps to circulate the air, turn on your fans, air purifiers, exhaust fans etc. and it really helps ventilate! It improves air quality, pushes out pollutants, naturally circulates the air, air fresheners aren’t needed as it helps remove unwanted scents, and there is less allergen build up.

3. AVOID FOREVER CHEMICALS

Non stick and Teflon pans when heated to high temps the coating begins to break down and releases toxic chemicals into the air and your food. Research shows that these chemicals are linked to many health conditions, including certain cancers, and reproductive issues.

Opt for cast iron or stainless instead!

Many ingredients in cleaning products we use have been linked to serious health concerns. Opt for clean picks like branch basics or attitude, or make your own w/ vinegar, baking soda and water!

Use code KEE_TO_WELLNESS for 15% off my Branch Basics non toxic cleaning products too! I have the starter kit and use for all my home cleaning sprays and the oxygen boost laundry stain remover.

Use code KEETOWELLNESS15 for 15% off attitude products. I use their laundry soap for us and our baby, body lotion, body wash, baby bubble bath & shampoo, and my shampoo and conditioner.

4. REDUCE PLASTIC

Yes even “bpa free” 🥲. It’s estimated we consume around 50 plastic bags per year or one credit card per week. Easily swap plastic items in your home for glass or stainless! Think glass Tupperware (hand wash these lids), stainless water bottles, , love these glass reusable water bottles for guests, opt for reusable baggies etc.

5. FILTER YOUR WATER

Check out EWG tap water database to see contamination levels in your water. Adding the shower head & bathtub filters (great for babies!) have changed the game for my skin & hair too! We recently got this whole house hi water filtration system that has been amazing. This one is great for drinking water filtration, or a less expensive option. I also love this water filtering water bottle! Especially amazing for travel.

6. AVOID FRAGRANCE

Can disrupt the hormone system, reproductive system, and cause allergic reactions. Try a my non toxic home air freshener – mix essential oils mixed with water in a spray bottle, or incense instead! Check out this sandalwood oil. It’s very important to look for CLEAN essential oils. My favorite brands are Aura Cacia and Doterra. I’ve been obsessed with copal incense – it’s not “hippie” smelling at all, it smells almost sweet and woodsy. Traditionally used for clearing negative energy in the home and promoting positive energy. I got this cute incense holder.
